In 2016, there were about 5500 HIV infections and 2400 AIDS-related deaths. The infection rate between 2010 and 2016 rose by 16% and AIDS-related deaths rose by 3%. In total, there are an estimated 120,000 people (adults and children) living with HIV in Argentina, and an estimated 91,000 of people with HIV in Argentina know their status, as of 2017.
