In order to obtain an abortion, a woman must first receive counseling. The abortion must be performed by a licensed medical practitioner. It should also typically be performed in a general hospital or an approved health care establishment, except for in rare emergency cases. If a non-physician performs an abortion, that person may be subject to a fine or a year in prison.[1]
