As the largest city in New Zealand, you will find many health care resources in Auckland. You need a prescription for hormonal birth control, but there are low-cost options for consultations and prescription appointments. While you don't need a prescription for condoms, they are much cheaper if you do receive a condom prescription. Emergency contraception (the morning after pill) is now available without a prescription, which is a rather new development with NZ.
