In Bangladesh, it was found that about two-thirds of MR procedures were performed in public health facilities, such as Union Health and Family Welfare Centres, which are the primary providers in rural areas. NGOs provide about one quarter of MR services and private clinics provide about 9%. However, many of the public health providers do not perform the procedure. In 2010, only 57% of the facilities that were expected to provide MR services actually did provide them.[1]
