Historically, Mongolia has had a low rate of HIV infection. In 2016, it was found that less 500 people in Mongolia were infected with HIV, which was less than 0.1% of the population. Furthermore, less than 100 people in Mongolia were infected with HIV each year.[1] The government of Mongolia takes HIV prevention and treatment seriously. The National Committee on AIDS (NCA) was established in 2006, which was followed by the revision of the National Strategy Plan on HIV, AIDS and STIs (2010-2015).
